Lucy Gahan

Lucy Gahan is a Principal of Cultivate Legal. She grew up on the NSW Central Coast and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from Macquarie University, Sydney.

Lucy moved to the Central West in 2018 and began working at Rickards Whiteley. Under the mentorship of Kim Rickards, she gained valuable experience in Litigation, and she further developed her expertise in Wills and Estates under Michael Whiteley and Camilla Davidson.

Lucy regularly appears in the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Personal Injury Commission, and NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. She has also represented clients in the Children’s Court, Fair Work Commission, and Supreme Court of South Australia.

An empathetic and strategic solicitor, Lucy provides well-reasoned, practical advice and is a strong litigator, using dispute resolution strategies where beneficial.

Lucy practices primarily in the areas of Disputed Estates, Estate Litigation and Civil Litigation, and works closely with the Estate Administration team and a network of trusted Barristers to achieve excellent results for her clients.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys playing hockey for Cyms, socialising with friends and family at Orange’s renowned venues, and spending time with her husband and their much-loved puppy, Archie.

Lucy’s practice predominately focuses on:

  • Estate Disputes – advising executors and beneficiaries on Family Provision Act claims, Probate disputes, Partnership disputes and regularly represents her clients in the NSW Supreme Court.

  • Estate Administration – assisting clients with Probate and Letters of Administration applications.

  • Estate Planning – advising on Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Company Powers of Attorney, Appointments of Enduring Guardian, Superannuation Death Benefit Nominations, and reviewing Trust, Partnership, and Company documentation.

  • Civil Litigation – handling commercial and building disputes.

  • Personal Injury Law – including Workers Compensation (Statutory Benefits and Common Law Work Injury Damages), Dust Diseases, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Public Liability, and Negligence claims.
